The summer of 2018 I drove from Van Nuys, CA to Decatur, GA in a plate-less Hyundai Elantra. No one batted an eye, not even the countless troopers I saw along the way. Proof that southerners think it’s rude to pry.
Since then I’ve called The Big Peach sort-of home.
Welcome to not home: Atlanta.
Good People, Even Better Bakery
Decatur just got more delicious. Buena Gente Bakery has the pastelitos and croquetas you crave.
Ponce City Market as it stands today officially opened in August 2014, but you can still get a feel for the old Sears building.
Penguins on Parade
Ever wondered what more than 10 million gallons of fresh and salt water tanks can hold?
Ode to Atlanta
There were certain things to get used to. Coca-Cola money is everywhere, and so is Tyler Perry. And, most importantly, wherever you turn you will be enveloped in history.
Garden for all Seasons
Piedmont Park, Atlanta
Atlanta Botanic Garden’s 30 acres are right next to Piedmont Park in Midtown.
I’ve been to quite a few Pride Parades, but none like Atlanta’s.
Falling for Fall
Amicalola Falls, Dawson County
Pumpkin and cinnamon are my least favorite flavors, so I’ve never had a taste for fall…until now.
